The announcement that Sherri Shepherd was taking over The Wendy Williams Show timeslot did not surprise the ailing host. Wendy’s rep released a statement on Tuesday. (quote) “She understands why this decision was made from a business point of view. She’s been assured by [syndicator] Debmar-Mercury that Wendy would be back on TV when her health returns and if she desires.” Wendy also expressed gratitude for the support shown during her health struggles. She thanked, by name, fill-in host Sherri Shepherd. (People)
