Beginning on Saturday, June 16th, 2018 at 6:30 a.m., The 1st Bahamas Boys’ Brigade will be celebrating their 75th Anniversary. Their theme for the milestone is, “Still Fighting the Good Fight,” and the scripture is 1 Timothy 6: 12, “Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses” (NIV). For decades, the Boys’ Brigade has focused on their two pillars: religion and discipline – allowing them to transition into successful men. They have different companies throughout the Bahamas that can be found at several churches.
The Boys’ Brigade chose to begin their celebration with a fun/run walk because physical activity is one of the brigade’s priorities. The celebration will continue on Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. with a Panel Discussion focusing on the topic: “Developing the Whole Man.” The night is dedicated to men of all ages. There will also be a Father/Son look-alike contest. Bring your son or your grandson to win a prize and to learn from the men of the Brigade.
Join the Boys Brigade the next weekend on Friday, June 20th, 2018 at 7 p.m. for a drill display and exhibition. To close off the celebration the Boys’ Brigade way, join them at their church service on Sunday, July 1st, 2018 at 3 p.m.
All events will take place at Grant’s Town Wesley Methodist Church and Hall on Chapel St.

Dwain Wallace has been in Public Relations and Advertising and Marketing since the early nineties. In 2000 he took his P.R. talents to 100 Jamz. Although he was in the administrative department, he often dabbled with radio, whether he was live on air or recorded. In 2012, Tony Williams invited Dwain to join the Star 106 team.
Dwain appears on Good Mornin’, Dis Mornin’ every weekday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., hosted by Tony Williams and Greg Lampkin. Additionally, he hosts Pillow Talk on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 10 p.m. to midnight. Dwain loves radio because it’s a theater of the mind- whichever mood you want to create you can do so with music. He also loves that nowadays, radio is something you can take anywhere, especially now with smartphone apps.
