Tyockin Bethell, a talented Bahamian writer, is releasing his first book on Saturday, July 29th, 2017. Lyrical Gymnastics: Probation of the Mind contains philosophical quotations intended to free the mind.
Bethell believes that people tend to think themselves into boxes and become prisoners of the mind. The purpose of the compilation is to paint an image in people’s minds and have them contemplate it. He hopes that his work inspires other aspiring writers to pursue their passion and release their material.
Lyrical Gymnastics: Probation of the Mind will be available for purchase at Easy Life in Palm Dale as well as on Amazon (paperback or Kindle). Pirate’s Republic is hosting the release party on July 29th, 2017. Star 106 encourages you to support Tyockin Bethell, an up and coming, Bahamian author.

Dwain Wallace has been in Public Relations and Advertising and Marketing since the early nineties. In 2000 he took his P.R. talents to 100 Jamz. Although he was in the administrative department, he often dabbled with radio, whether he was live on air or recorded. In 2012, Tony Williams invited Dwain to join the Star 106 team.
Dwain appears on Good Mornin’, Dis Mornin’ every weekday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., hosted by Tony Williams and Greg Lampkin. Additionally, he hosts Pillow Talk on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 10 p.m. to midnight. Dwain loves radio because it’s a theater of the mind- whichever mood you want to create you can do so with music. He also loves that nowadays, radio is something you can take anywhere, especially now with smartphone apps.
Brad Hanna’s broadcasting career began with him working in both television and radio. About twenty years ago he left television and dedicated his career to radio full time. In 2008, he formed Star 106 with Buena Wright, Tony Williams, and Greg Lampkin. He hosts Switching Lanes every weekday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Everyday he strives to expose his listeners to a variety of genres suavely.
Brad loves radio because every day is unique. There are always new people to meet, new music to play. He appreciates the opportunity to connect with listeners via radio. However, Brad’s passion is not limited to music. He incorporates his love for sports as the Star 106 sportscaster. Some of his favorite pop-culture artists are Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Rihanna; and one of his favorite music genres is soft RnB. Nonetheless, Brad enjoys a wide variety of music.
Tony Williams began his career in broadcasting in the late seventies. He started out in production and later added “on-air personality” to his resume. When he moved to a different company in the nineties, he also became a programming director. In 2008, he formed Star 106 with Buena Wright, Greg Lampkin, and Brad Hanna.
Tony currently co-hosts Good Mornin’, Dis Mornin’ with Greg Lampkin from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. He is also Star’s programming and production director, but his true passion is production. Two of Tony’s favorite artists are Patti LaBelle and Babyface because he loves old school music.
Greg Lampkin entered the broadcasting world in the early seventies. During this time, he was involved in television and radio, as a production assistant. After a break from broadcasting, Greg returned as a television program director at a local company. In 2008, he formed Star 106 with Buena Wright, Tony Williams, and Brad Hanna.
Greg is currently the co-host of Good Mornin’, Dis Mornin’ with Tony Williams from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. He enjoys expressing his creativity and making people smile via radio. Greg is non-discriminative when it comes to music artists and genres. However, if you’re looking to get him dancing at a party, James Brown would be your best bet.
Timico Sawyer, popularly known as Sawyer Boy, is the newest addition to the Star 106 line up. Aside from being a social media star and comedian, Sawyer Boy co-hosts The Fix with Tessa Lightbourne every weekday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. He enjoys and appreciates radio because of the daily opportunity to improve his public speaking skills. Sawyer Boy’s favorite artists are Eminem and Michael Jackson.
Tessa Lightbourne became a radio personality four years ago when she began hosting on Hot 91.7. After almost a year, she relocated to Star 106, Hot 91’s parent station, where she hosted Tessa’s Rendezvous. Currently, Tessa hosts The Fix with Sawyer Boy every weekday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
According to Tessa, the best aspect of radio is listening to music, although nowadays, she does most of her listening when she’s working. Her favorite artist is Sade, but Beres Hammond is a close second. Besides co-hosting The Fix, Tessa Lightbourne also owns an online bakery, Bourne Sweet.
